Tony has over 38 years experience as a specialist urban design, architectural and historic environment advisor and practitioner in the planning, conservation and regeneration sectors.
He has significant expertise working within both local authorities and architectural companies whilst actively championing urban design on national and local design panels.
Prior to founding +Plus UD with Richard Charge in 2011 Tony was Associate Director at _space Environment and previously Urban Design Director at Ryder Architecture.
He also worked at Newcastle City Council as Urban Design and Conservation Group Manager leading the team which won a CABE Public Sector Award in 2005.
Tony is currently Chair of the national Historic Towns and Villages Forum; Vice Chair of both the Integreat Plus Yorkshire and Design_North East Design Review Services and is an Academician at the Academy of Urbanism.
He is also a Design Council Cabe Built Environment Expert (BEE) and design panellist for Places Matter! North West.
He has successfully worked on projects in the North of England and the Midlands and advised on a wide range of schemes across the country.
Tony has been the Managing Director at +PlusUD since 2016.
Adela Sadler Associate
Landscape Architect Consultant
Adela is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Project Manager who has worked at Director level in commercial multi-disciplinary consultancies providing environmental and landscape design expertise for the past 18 years.
She was previously Operational Director at RPS Planning and Development in NE and Yorkshire having earlier been their Landscape Technical Director and prior to that Environment Regional Co-ordinator at the Halcrow Group Ltd - Northern Division.
Her key expertise includes:
- Landscape design and public realm
- Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA)
- Strategic landscape character analysis
- Urban regeneration – strategy and feasibility
She has worked on +PlusUD projects in Co. Durham, the Midlands, North Yorkshire and Tyneside.
Prior to becoming a landscape architect Adela was a successful furniture designer including street furniture still in production today.
Associate Urban Design and Historic Environment Consultant
Roger has extensive public sector and community/voluntary sector experience providing strategic urban design and historic environment assessments.
He has worked for local planning authorities in the NE and NW and has successfully contributed to recent +PlusUD projects in the Midlands and the North of England.
He is also Chair of Hexham Civic Society in Northumberland.
Associate Architect Consultant
Tim has extensive experience in the residential sector, from masterplanning and housing developments, working with leading house builders through to bespoke residential projects. This has led to a strong understanding of the complexities of the planning system, with a solid grounding in the technical issues of construction and buildability.

He has previously been part of the +PlusUD team providing strategic masterplanning services for major settlement expansion on Tyneside and in North Yorkshire.
Associate Public Arts Consultant
Tracey supports +PlusUD in our local placemaking and public realm studies and advises on public art opportunities.
Tracey’s arts practice involves performance, collaboration, community development and sustainable cultural regeneration, creativity research, event direction and production - see www.traceytofield.com
She is also an Associate Lecturer in Fine Art and Drawing Tutor in the School of Architecture, Landscape and Planning at Newcastle University.
Tracey devised and co-ordinates The Arthouse programme, a site specific event involving local, national and international contemporary artists which has run within Whitley Bay Film Festival since 2010.
She has been a Creative Agent for Creative Partnerships UK and co-directed the Whitley Bay Film Festival which won the Journal Culture Award for the Best Event on Tyneside in 2012. She has received numerous Arts Council England awards for both her visual arts work and The Arthouse Programme.
Urban Design Assistant
Paula having completed her post graduate architectural design studies at Northumbria University following her earlier Diploma in 3D Design & Fine Art is now fully embarking on her professional career by supporting the +PlusUD team on a range projects.
She has a particular aptitude for imaginative graphic design to support her context analysis skills.
